These rules make it clear who is behind the content on vitliki.talgildu.fo, what status the content has, which sources it is based on, and how errors are corrected.
Publisher and responsibility
The site is published by Digital Faroe Islands (Talgildu Føroyar). Work on the Faroese AI Strategy is a new policy area for Gjaldstovan and Digital Faroe Islands. The name “Vitlíki Føroya” is not used as the sender unless and until a different decision is made.
Official updates are published by Digital Faroe Islands. Ólavur Ellefsen holds editorial responsibility during this phase of the work. The author, interviewee, or guest contributor is named where relevant.
What we publish
We publish official updates, decisions and changelogs, explainers, answers to questions, resource guides, event information, case studies, and international lessons. Opinions, interviews, and guest articles are clearly distinguished from official updates. The views of a named individual do not automatically represent the position of Digital Faroe Islands or a confirmed part of the strategy.
Public statuses
We use these statuses on all substantive pages and publications:
- Confirmed: Formally approved or verified and safe to present as fact.
- Proposed: A concrete proposal under review.
- In development: Active work with an owner and a clear next step.
- Open for input: A question or proposal on which the public or stakeholders are invited to comment.
- Planned: Agreed, but work has not started.
- In progress: Implementation has started.
- Completed: Delivered, with evidence of the result.
- Paused or blocked: Not progressing; the reason is explained where possible.
- Superseded: Retained for the historical record and linked to its replacement.
When the status is “Proposed”, we also identify who owns the proposal and what review or approval remains. A working proposal is never presented as confirmed fact.
Sources and evidence
For substantive content, we show the date, sender or author, public status, last update, owner, next step, and relevant sources. We link to primary sources where possible and disclose when information comes from working proposals, meeting notes, interviews, or international comparisons.
Meeting notes and internal working documents are not published automatically. They must first be reviewed and cleared for public use. We distinguish clearly between what a source says, our summary of it, and our own assessment.
Corrections and changes
Readers can report a possible error to talgildu@talgildu.fo. Please include the page link, describe the error, and provide a supporting source where available.
We investigate reports and correct verified errors as quickly as possible. Minor language or technical corrections that do not change meaning may be made without a separate notice. Changes that affect meaning, status, figures, responsibility, or conclusions receive a visible dated update with a short explanation. Superseded content is labelled and linked to the replacement where appropriate.
Language
Faroese is the primary language. Faroese copy is written directly from clear sources and is not merely back-translated by machine from another language. If language versions conflict, the Faroese version prevails.
The vision, main strategy pages, initiative summaries, governance, international pages, major reports, contact information, and high-impact announcements are published in Faroese and English on the same day. Case studies, monthly updates, and substantial explainers are normally available in English within five working days of the Faroese version. A short update for local readers may be Faroese-only, but its translation status is visible and an English summary is provided when the content has international relevance.
We maintain a controlled glossary with preferred terms, avoided invented terms, definitions, and a named language editor.
Use of AI in editorial work
We may use AI as an assistive tool for ideas, research discovery, summaries, structure, and translation. A human editor always remains responsible for published content. Sources, figures, quotations, statuses, and translations are checked. Machine translation is not published without language review.
Approval, security, and accessibility
Before publication, content receives factual and language review. Legal, privacy, and security review is triggered when the subject requires it. We also check links, dates, status labels, metadata, image descriptions, responsive layouts, and accessibility.
We do not publish confidential working documents, personal data, private contact information, access credentials, or unapproved material. Case studies must describe safeguards, human responsibility, limitations, and evidence — not only positive results.

Effective date and review
This policy takes effect on . It is reviewed at least monthly during the active strategy phase and whenever responsibilities, workflows, or public status definitions change. The page always shows when the policy was last updated.
